  • EQUIPMENT FOR WET GLUE REEL PAPER & CARDBOARD MATERIAL LAMINATOR

Scale your premium packaging production with this high-efficiency Wet Glue Reel Paper and Cardboard Material Laminator. This specialized litho-laminator is designed to take a continuous web of printed paper from a reel and smoothly adhere it to rigid, pre-cut cardboard or corrugated sheets. Utilizing a cost-effective wet glue system, it is the perfect machinery solution for manufacturing high-quality laminated packaging, POS/POP displays, and luxury presentation boxes that require photographic print quality combined with structural strength.

    • Condition: The machine is in a good technical state. The wet glue application rollers, web tension controllers, and sheet registration systems have been strictly maintained for accurate, bubble-free lamination.
    • Extras: Supplied with lots of spare parts, including extra glue application rollers, unwinder brakes, drive belts, and sensor arrays.
    • Price: 12,000 EUR - "AS IS" In Kostinbrod, Bulgaria, EU

The Laminated Packaging Workflow: Printing, Lamination, and Die Cutting

Because you cannot easily print high-resolution images directly onto the bumpy surface of corrugated cardboard, the industry uses a multi-step process known as litho-lamination. This machine is the vital bridge in this workflow.

    1. The Printing Process (Reel-to-Reel)

The process starts by printing the high-quality graphics onto a large, continuous roll of thin paper (the "top liner"). This is typically executed on high-speed web offset or flexographic printing presses. Once printed and rewound, this printed paper reel is brought to the laminating line.

    2. Print Finishing (The Wet Glue Lamination Process)

This is where our Wet Glue Laminator takes over. It joins the thin, printed paper web to the thick, structural cardboard sheets:

    • Unwinding & Gluing: The printed paper reel is unwound. A precision roller system applies a thin, even layer of water-based "wet glue" (such as starch or PVA adhesive) to the underside of the paper web.
    • Sheet Feeding & Registration: Simultaneously, individual sheets of cardboard or corrugated board are fed into the machine from a bottom stack.
    • Lamination (Mounting): The glued paper web is pressed firmly onto the cardboard sheets. A rotary knife then cuts the continuous paper web exactly at the trailing edge of each cardboard sheet, creating individual laminated boards.
    • Pressing: The newly laminated boards pass through pressure rollers or a pressing belt to ensure the wet glue sets flat without warping or bubbling.

    3. The Die Cutting Process

After the glue has fully cured, the rigid, laminated sheets are transferred to an automatic flatbed die cutter. A custom steel-rule die stamps out the exact shape of the box and presses in the fold lines. Finally, folder-gluers fold and seal the blanks into their final, luxury packaging shape.
