  • USED RIGID BOX MAKING MACHINE WITH V-GROOVING (100 x 120 CM)

Elevate your luxury packaging production with this highly specialized Rigid Box Making Machine. Designed to process thick, solid cardboard sheets up to 100 x 120 cm, this machine is equipped with advanced V-Shaped Cutting and V-Grooving technology. By cutting precise channels into thick board rather than crushing it with a crease, it allows you to create high-end boutique boxes, jewelry cases, and luxury electronics packaging with perfectly sharp, crisp 90-degree corners.

    • Condition: The machine is in a good technical state. The v-grooving blades, alignment sensors, and feeding belts have been meticulously maintained for exact cutting tolerances.
    • Extras: Supplied with lots of spare parts, including sets of V-cut blades (various angles), sharpening tools, drive belts, and guides.
    • Price: 12,000 EUR - "AS IS" In Kostinbrod, Bulgaria, EU

The Luxury Packaging Workflow: Printing, V-Grooving, and Box Assembly

Standard folding cartons use thin paperboard that is simply creased and folded. Luxury "rigid boxes" (like those used for smartphones or premium cosmetics) use thick, unbendable greyboard. This requires a completely different manufacturing workflow.

    1. The Printing Process (The Wrap)

The thick structural greyboard of a rigid box is rarely printed directly. Instead, high-quality graphics, foil stamping, or spot UV are applied to a thin sheet of specialty paper (the "wrap"). This is done using commercial offset lithography presses.

    2. The Die Cutting & V-Grooving Process (The Core)

Simultaneously, the thick structural greyboard must be prepared. Because a 2mm or 3mm thick board cannot be creased and folded without cracking, it must be grooved.

This is where our Rigid Box Making Machine is used:

    • Feeding: The thick, die-cut greyboard blanks (up to 100 x 120 cm) are fed into the machine.
    • V-Grooving: Extremely sharp, angled blades scrape a V-shaped channel out of the cardboard, removing material right down to the final paper layer.
    • Result: This creates a "hinge" that allows the thick board to fold into a perfectly crisp, mathematically exact 90-degree corner, completely free of the rounded, bulging edges seen on standard folded boxes.

    3. Rigid Box Assembly & Print Finishing

The final step brings the printed wrap and the V-grooved core together. Automated rigid box makers apply hot animal glue to the printed wrap. A robotic plunger pushes the V-grooved board down onto the wrap, snapping the 90-degree corners into place. Finally, automated brushes tightly fold and wrap the printed paper around the edges of the box, creating a seamless, luxurious finished product.
