The Production Workflow: Printing, Print Finishing, and Shrink Packing

The Torres MiniPack serves as the final step in the manufacturing process, taking finished, printed goods and sealing them securely for transport or retail display.

    1. Printing and Die Cutting

Before items are shrink-wrapped, their packaging must be created. The process begins on a commercial offset lithography press, which prints high-resolution graphics onto cardboard sheets. These sheets are then moved to an automatic flatbed die cutter, which punches out the specific shape of the box and presses in the crease lines.

    2. Print Finishing (Folder Gluers)

The flat, die-cut blanks are fed into high-speed folder-gluer machines. Belts rapidly fold the cardboard along the creases, and nozzles apply glue to the seams. The boxes are then erected and filled with the final product (e.g., software, food, or cosmetics) on a separate assembly line.

    3. Final Packaging (The Shrink Chamber Process)

The filled boxes or grouped products are brought to the Torres MiniPack Machine for final sealing:

    • Loading: The operator slides the product into a folded sheet of specialized shrink film (PE, POE, or PET).
    • Sealing: The operator pulls the product into the 55x40x30 cm chamber and closes the hood. An electrically heated wire instantly cuts the film to size and seals the open edges around the product, enclosing it in a loose plastic bag.
    • Shrinking: Simultaneously, a powerful fan circulates hot air inside the closed chamber. The heat causes the molecular structure of the POE or PET film to rapidly contract, shrinking it tightly around the contours of the box, creating a crystal-clear, tamper-evident seal.
