    Packaging Your Pellets: Printing, Die Cutting, and Print Finishing Processes

    Once your burning pellets or food granules are manufactured, they require durable, branded packaging for retail and distribution. Here is a general overview of the industrial packaging workflows used to create high-quality paper bags and cardboard cartons for your granular products.

    1. The Printing Process

    The packaging journey begins with printing. Heavy-duty paper (for large pellet sacks) or folding carton board (for smaller food granule boxes) is fed into large-format commercial presses. Flexography is commonly used for rougher sack paper, while offset lithography is used for high-resolution retail boxes. Inks are applied and dried rapidly to ensure the branding pops on the shelf.

    2. The Die Cutting Process

    For cardboard packaging, the printed sheets must be cut to shape. An automatic flatbed die cutter stamps a custom steel-rule die into the cardboard, punching out the exact flat shape of the box (the blank) and pressing crease lines into the material to dictate where it will fold. The waste material is stripped away automatically.

    3. Print Finishing (Folder Gluing & Sack Making)

    The final step brings the flat printed materials into their usable 3D form:

    • For Cardboard Boxes: The die-cut blanks are fed into a folder-gluer machine at high speeds. Belts fold the carton along the pre-made creases, and precise nozzles apply adhesive to the seams. The boxes are delivered flat-packed, ready to be erected and filled with food granules.
    • For Paper Sacks: Printed paper reels are run through specialized bag-making machines that form a continuous tube, cut it to length, and fold and glue the heavy-duty block bottom, creating a strong sack ready to hold up to 15kg of heating pellets.
